I’m John, a 17 year old Australian singer and live performer who placed in the top 6 on Australian Idol. On the show, I was given the nickname “Johnny Jukebox” by Kyle Sandilands, a name that has stayed with me and reflects my connection to classic, crowd-pleasing music.

I’m a versatile live performer built around energy, connection, and reading the room. I started out performing at older community venues, where I learned early how to tailor my sets to the audience in front of me. That experience gave me a strong foundation in 50s rock and roll and the timeless sound of jukebox classics, which continues to shape my style today.

On stage, I perform everything from high-energy rock and roll to powerful ballads, always focused on creating a great atmosphere and a memorable experience for the audience. Whether it’s a singalong moment, a high-energy set, or something more stripped back, I adapt my performance to suit the event and the crowd.

My Australian Idol journey began while I was temporarily based in Adelaide due to my parents’ work. I auditioned simply looking for opportunities and didn’t expect the outcome, but was selected and progressed through the competition to the top 6. That experience gave me national performance exposure and further developed my ability to deliver under pressure at a professional level.
